FAQ

Here you will find answers to frequently asked questions

Viewing the STREAMEAI.COM service is supported on PC, Android phones and tablets, iOS phones and tablets, and Samsung Tizen (2018 onwards) connected TVs. Although not officially supported, viewing is also available via other connected TV web browsers.

The website is responsively designed and can be viewed effectively on a variety of screen sizes. Viewers may cast using an Android device for Google Chromecast, or an Apple device for Apple TV. Certain models of television will support screen mirroring or casting natively.

Current desktop browsers supported include: Chrome, Edge (Chromium only), Firefox, and Safari. Given the fast-changing technology environment we live in, device support is evolving on an ongoing basis and device features are subject to change.

You will need a minimum of 2Mbps downlink speed for a standard definition picture and approximately 4 to 5Mbps for HD. Requirements will vary across device types. Generally, the larger the screen size you are watching on and the greater resolution you want, the more bandwidth you will require. STREAMEAI delivers our live and VOD videos using adaptive streaming technologies.

Our typical configurations deliver video in bitrates starting at 480Kbps for phone, scaling up to 5,000Kbps for larger screens. Some HD 1080 events may require 10Mps. Most commercially available telecom providers will be able to support these requirements, even in more remote rural areas.

In order to watch a video cast from a phone or tablet to a large screen TV, a minimum of 5Mbps download speed is recommended. Please note that streaming via mobile connections consumes a lot of bandwidth. We are not responsible for any data charges you may incur watching the service,

Unless you have a flat rate 5G service, it is strongly recommended that you stream video content over wired or WIFI connections. Avoid busy shared hotspots as they may not provide you with sufficient bandwidth to have a reliable streaming experience.

Generally speaking, there are three pretty convenient ways to get content from your computer or mobile device to your TV: screen mirroring, casting or hook up your device to your TV via HDMI. Screen mirroring is self- explanatory and device dependent, while casting a video from a device to another screen has become increasingly complex.

TIPS

CHROMECAST - In order to Chromecast, you need to have a Google Chromecast dongle connected to your TV, or your TV needs to have Chromecast capabilities embedded. Chromecast can be found on many smart TVs including Sony, TCL, and Vizio. You will see a "casting" icon in the player when the Chromecast device is connected to your local home network, Press the icon and the video will be displayed on your smart TV. For further information on using Chromecast visit here.

AIRPLAY – For Airplay you will need either an Apple TV device connected to your TV or a smart TV with built in Airplay capabilities. The device needs to be on your local network. Once this is determined and set up, you will see the option on your iOS device (iPhone, IPad or Mac) to Airplay. For further information visit Apple Support.

SCREEN MIRRORING - Screen mirroring - is the act of displaying a live view of your phone's screen onto a TV. Everything you do on the phone is shown on the TV in real time. Click here some detailed options. HARDWIRE HDMI - If you do not have a wireless device that supports Chromecast or Airplay and you are unable to effectively mirror the content, you can use an HDMI (or similar connection) on your PC or laptop to display on a TV. For detail instructions visit the Tech Advisor site. The technologies enabling the ability to cast and mirror content are improving rapidly. Please refer to you device documentation for the latest details on its ability to connect to smart TVs.
